cups. cups. cups.

i like collecting. like a lot of other people.
some people collect books, jewelry, makeup, clothes, etc...

one of the things i like to collect is cups. any kind go cups but always in 2s~
i think i get it from my mom. my mom collects kitchenwares/gadgets.
her most extensive collection is of rice cookers. being asian (korean) having good rice is key!
you think all rice cookers are as good as the next but really..they're not ;) but off point. back to cups.

my go-to-place for my collection are thrift stores and anthropologie.
i adore anthropolgie for many many reasons but one reason is because i love their sale section and the good stuff you can get from there. i refuse to pay full price (totally different topic) for anything so i just go straight for their sale section. i prefer the 16th and 5th ave store over any of the other stores in nyc, i always find something there.
currently i have 4 or 5 tumblers/goblets/wine glasses/tea cups from there. unfortunately i dont have pictures of it right now (will update later) :(
currently im coveting these:

way too long

it has been way too long since ive posted anything. my bad.
work has been hectic the last couple weeks/month. and plus being out for surgery has kept me from regularly posting.

but it's not to say that i haven't stumbled on stuff that i wanted to collect/post...

current obsession is MARA HOFFMAN!
she's been posted in many many blogs these days...and i have to saw I AM IN LOVE with her designs.
especially these from her SP10 line:

rainboots

so the snow is starting to melt away in nyc today which means massive puddles everywhere.

my choice of shoes when it rains or snows is a good pair of rainboots. im not a fan of the snowboot look...*shake head*
i actually picked up a cheap pair from a random store at the manhattan mall about 2 years ago and they've been good to me but i feel like now i want a real NICE pair.

i first feel in love with hunter boots after my old roommate got a pair. she's floral designer and scored herself a pair for work purposes.
i love the tall, slim look that they have. no bells and whistles. simple. classic.

but let's face the facts. $115 for a pair of shoes that you only wear on&off depending on the weather....it's sortof hard for me to swallow.
but thank god i have a friend who works in retail and has access to these! if she didnt i dont think i would even contemplate purchasing them.

so now it comes down to color.
i am a lover of all things RED. i love the color of how vibrant it is. this might sound weird but i feel like it's a color that has life behind it!

so while doing my daily blog surfing i came upon a picture emily over at cupcakeandcashmere looking oh-so-lovely in her red pair:

dont they look fabulous?!?!!!

as much as i covet this...i think it's more practical for me to own the black or navy pair.
esp since i usually wear my red burberry trench when it rains.

i'll update on what i end up getting :)

i love snow

today is a perfect day to read a book in my warm bed by my window and just look at the snow collect on my fire escape.

but
i had to come to work...i hate having to come to work when it's snowing.

i haven't stepped out of my office building since i came in this morning.
so im going to assume that none of this NYC snow is sticking to the ground :(

which looks so lovely in this picture taken by The Sartorialist

but i would love to have a couple of inches of snow to walk around in tomorrow.

Testing Testing

Trying out blogging from my iPhone. Let's see if this works!

bad girl!

ok i have not posted in a month :(
ive been bad.

well i do have good reason. i recently moved into the city and have been busy just getting settled, buying new furniture, getting settled, organizing, getting settled.
apparently i have a little bit of organizing OCD. my new roommates can attest to this.
i can't help it.
well our apt is a bit of a mess because i somehow got my 2 other roommates to change up/reorg their rooms so now our house looks like a bomb went off!

well hopefully things will be all cleared very soon!

living in a treehouse

i remember a couple years back there was a piece about todd oldman and the treehouse he lived in.
oh how wonderful that would be.

of course i love living on solid ground and having cement walls but once in awhile a girl can dream to sleep in between trees and wake up to it too.

i happen to pass by a cup of jo today to see this post about treehouse and fell absolutely in love with it.

these are pictures from treehouse point in washington. how amazing is this!
i might have to look into this whenever i visit washington

amazing.

another artist i just happen to stumble up is amanda wachob.

her canvas (most of the time) is skin. she's an amazing tattoo artist

if i ever figure out what i want and can afford her work i might consider her.

two favorite things into ONE

of the many many things i love in life there are 2 things that i adore = good very dark chocolate and tea.

now...combine the two and you get CHOCLATEA

these creations are made by Joanie Freeman.
finely crushed organic tea mixed with small batches of the best belgian chocolate ..... OH HOW I WANT THEE!!!!

there are 2 places in new york that carry these: radiance tea room & subtle tea.
im definitely going to make a trip very soon to pick up a few pieces.

will write a review once i get my hands on these!!

audrey kawasaki

audrey kawasaki is AMAZING.

i believe i was first exposed to her just by fellow blogger but now im an avid fan.

some might not find her as aesthetically pleasing as i do. everyone's taste is different.

she's selling the top two pieces very soon and im all excited for it! i'm eyeing 'yuuwaku' in particular.
it's not cheap by any means but it's definitely worth the investment.

let the waiting begin.

one day at a time...

my new years resolution, or my life resolution is to take 1 day at a time and finish those one little things i've always had on my to-do list that i keep putting off.

today....well i haven't done anything to cross off.
sad.

hold the thought. i did do something. i made this blog.
months of thoughts and it's finally here.

so first day: made a blog (cross out)

hopefully by writing about what i NEED to do will help.

this year is my year. so lets have a strong start!!!
